I am deeply honored to stand before you today at the official commissioning of the Obas House, a monumental event that signifies a key achievement in your administration’s commitment to safeguarding and advancing our cultural heritage and traditional institutions.
It is without question that your leadership has shown unwavering dedication to restoring the traditional institution to its rightful place of respect and honor. Through impactful policies and initiatives, you have revitalized its importance, ensuring its pivotal role in governance and societal progress.
Your Excellency, by approving the statutory five percent allocation for the monthly allowance of traditional rulers in the state, you have laid a foundation for a legacy that will not be forgotten. This decision is not just a promise, but a true act of commitment to our institution, exemplifying the spirit of Omoluabi. History will undoubtedly remember this noble gesture.
Today, we stand proud alongside traditional rulers across the nation with a place that befits us—a modern and magnificent Obas House. This edifice symbolizes growth, and we are honored to call it our own. Your Excellency, once again, you have proven yourself to be a leader who fulfills not only words but decisive actions.
To my esteemed fellow Kabiyesis, I encourage us all to continue supporting, guiding, and praying for the administration of Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. As the closest figures to our people, we hold a unique responsibility to contribute to the delivery of democratic benefits to our communities.
Your Excellency, since assuming office, you have been a great advocate for the Traditional Institution, and we do not take your efforts lightly. We are also profoundly grateful for your promise to provide vehicles for all Obas in Ondo State—an unprecedented act in the history of the state. Your administration is truly ushering in an era of progress for our traditional institutions, and we are deeply appreciative.
Finally, I extend my gratitude to all who contributed to the successful and timely completion of this remarkable project.
