The Akure community has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti for their instrumental roles in establishing the Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital (FUTATH) in Akure, Ondo State.
Led by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, and Dr. Olufemi Oyinsan, Chairman of the Community Central Planning Committee (CCPC) for the hospital’s establishment, community leaders visited Pa Fasoranti to convey their appreciation. They lauded President Tinubu’s foresight and patriotism, which they believe have been pivotal in realizing the community’s longstanding aspiration for a teaching hospital.
Dr. Oyinsan highlighted that efforts to establish the teaching hospital had spanned nearly two decades without success until the recent intervention. He credited the breakthrough to the leadership of President Tinubu and the enduring guidance of Pa Fasoranti. The community also acknowledged the support of the Federal Government and the Ondo State Government in facilitating the project’s takeoff.

Pa Fasoranti commended President Tinubu and all stakeholders involved in bringing the teaching hospital to fruition. He urged the sons and daughters of Akure-speaking communities to collaborate and ensure the hospital’s successful operation during his lifetime.
The establishment of FUTATH is anticipated to significantly enhance healthcare delivery and medical education in Ondo State and its environs. The community remains hopeful for continued governmental support to ensure the hospital’s smooth commencement and operation.
