The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has affirmed the election of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, dismissing appeals filed by the PDP, ADC, APM, and SDP for lack of merit.

The Justices held that the appellants failed to prove allegations of irregularities or non-compliance with the Electoral Act and awarded ₦1.5 million in costs against each party.

Reacting to the judgment, Governor Aiyedatiwa described it as a validation of the people’s will and a rejection of what he called opposition parties’ “backdoor approach to power.” He praised the judiciary for its diligence and reaffirmed that over 366,000 Ondo residents had freely given him their mandate in the November 2024 election.
The governor expressed gratitude to God, his legal team, his deputy, party leaders, and supporters across the state. He assured the people of Ondo that his administration remains focused on delivering good governance.
