A High Court has dismissed the lawsuit challenging the legitimacy of the Deji of Akure’s throne.

The suit, filed by representatives of the Idanre community, sought to dispute the authority and position of the traditional ruler.

In delivering the judgment, the court ruled in favor of the Deji of Akure, affirming the legality of his title and dismissing the claims brought forward by the Idanre community as baseless.

Additionally, the court imposed a fine of ₦250,000 on the Idanre community, emphasizing that the claim lacked merit and constituted an unnecessary legal battle.

The ruling reinforces the authority of the Deji of Akure as the rightful custodian of the traditional stool, putting an end to the legal tussle over his kingship.
