The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, on Saturday graced the grand finale of the annual Owa Oropo Traditional Marathon.
The cultural sporting event, which began on Friday at the Deji’s Palace, featured the Omode-Owa in a spirited race competition.
Oba Aladetoyinbo awarded the winner a cash prize of ₦100,000, while the first and second runners-up received ₦75,000 and ₦50,000 respectively. Other participants were also appreciated with consolation prizes of ₦20,000 each.
