Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has established a 14-member State Assets Verification Committee to investigate the administration of his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Ernest Umakhihe, includes notable members such as Kassim Afegbua, Patrick Obahiagbon, and others, and is set to be inaugurated on November 26, 2024.

The committee’s goal is to assess the assets and liabilities left by the Obaseki administration, addressing concerns about the limited information provided by the previous government. This move aligns with Governor Okpebholo’s campaign promise to ensure transparency and accountability in governance.
