The Labour Party has suspended six prominent members, including Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Senators Darlington Nwokocha and Ireti Kingibe, over alleged anti-party activities. Others suspended are Victor Afam Ogene, Amobi Ogah, and Seyi Sowunmi.

The decision, announced by National Secretary Umar Farouk Ibrahim, follows the findings of a disciplinary committee set up on May 2, 2025. The suspensions take immediate effect.

The party clarified that Nenadi Usman was not included because she is not a registered member, accusing her of lacking moral authority on corruption issues.

Labour also ruled out joining any coalition or merger ahead of the 2027 elections, affirming it will run independently.
