Mele Kyari Honored with Royal Sword by Akure Monarch for Leadership at NNPC

Mr. Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL), received a prestigious royal sword from Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, the Paramount Ruler and Deji of Akure Kingdom.

The presentation took place on Saturday at a ceremony in the monarch’s palace in Akure, attended by the NNPC Ltd Board Chairman, Chief Pius Akinyelure, and other senior officials of the company.

The Deji of Akure praised NNPCL’s leadership under Kyari for its efforts to ensure energy security in Nigeria. He emphasized the symbolic significance of the sword, stating that it represents protection and strength, empowering Kyari to overcome his adversaries.

In response, Kyari expressed his deep appreciation for the honor, noting the significance of the gift and his pride in being associated with the NNPC Ltd Chairman and the Akure Kingdom. He acknowledged the strategic role of NNPCL in advancing the federal government’s ‘Decade of Gas’ initiative.
