The Nigerian Army Headquarters Team on Monday, 13th October 2025, visited the Ondo State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Akure, for a sensitization and enlightenment exercise on the ongoing 90 Regular Intake Recruitment process.
The visit was part of the Army’s nationwide effort to create awareness and educate prospective applicants on the recruitment procedures, discipline, and conduct expected during and after the exercise.

During the interactive session, Brig. Gen. A.T. Lawal emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, and patriotism as the core values of the Nigerian Army. He cautioned applicants against engaging in fraudulent activities or falling victim to fake recruitment agents, stressing that the recruitment process is free, transparent, and purely merit-based.
Major Popoola further enlightened participants on the stages of the recruitment process, eligibility requirements, and the need for both physical fitness and moral uprightness. They also addressed questions from attendees, clarifying common misconceptions about the exercise.
Speaking on the level of participation in the state, Brig. Gen. Lawal expressed concern that as of Saturday, only about 200 applicants from Ondo State had registered for the 90 Regular Intake recruitment, while states such as Benue and several northern states already boast over 2,000 applicants each.
He, therefore, encouraged more young people in Ondo State to take advantage of the opportunity and register promptly before the recruitment window closes.
Representing the Ondo State Government, Hon. Atiba, SSA on Security Matters, commended the Nigerian Army for its proactive outreach efforts and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting national security initiatives. He urged young people in the state to embrace discipline, patriotism, and selfless service to the nation.
The SSA on Youth Affairs also applauded the Army’s visit, noting that direct engagement like this helps to strengthen trust, transparency, and participation among youths.
The sensitization visit underscored the Nigerian Army’s continuous commitment to promoting discipline, professionalism, and national unity through transparent recruitment and civic education.
