The Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State, has commissioned a 30,000-litre solar-powered borehole at its Officers’ Mess, donated by the Aduro Foundation.
The project, part of the Navy’s 69th anniversary celebration, was funded by philanthropist Prince (Dr) Anthony Aduro to address the base’s long-standing clean water shortage.
The facility includes a purification system to ensure safe drinking water for naval personnel. At the commissioning, dignitaries, including a representative of the Ondo State Governor, praised the Navy and the Foundation for their community-focused efforts.
Captain Aliyu Usman, Commanding Officer of the Base, expressed gratitude and called on others to support similar initiatives.
