The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular street singer, Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, widely known as Portable, wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials performing their lawful duties.
According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m. Officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portableās father, at Odogwu Bar in the area.
The officials introduced themselves and requested the approved building plan for the premises. Portable’s father informed them that his son was not available. Shortly afterward, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and accompanied by nine associates. He reportedly led a violent attack on the unarmed officials, who sustained various injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command.
The case was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action. While nine of Portable’s accomplices have been arrested, the singer himself has reportedly gone into hiding. Despite multiple formal invitations to report to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Portable has allegedly ignored these requests without providing any cause or legal representation.
In response, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring Portable wanted. The public is urged to assist the police by providing any valuable information that could lead to his immediate arrest. The police have also warned that anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect will face legal consequences.
For any relevant information, individuals are encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or the police public relations department.
