The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three men for violently attacking officers in Akure on October 5, 2025. A distress call from an Okada rider led officers to the scene, where they arrested Odimgbe Blessing, Odimgbe Stanley, and one Fred (surname unknown), with help from local residents.
At the station, the suspects became violent and showed signs of drug influence. They were transferred to the Anti-Cultism Unit for closer monitoring. Video evidence confirmed the assault, and the suspects were charged to court and remanded in custody.
Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, condemned the attack and warned that anyone who assaults police personnel will face the law.
He also stressed the importance of human rights and urged citizens to support the police by providing useful information to combat crime.
