Parents of 76 children who were detained during the August #EndBadGovernance protests in Kano have appealed for additional support from the Nigerian and Kano state governments.

The children were recently reunited with their families following intervention by President Bola Tinubu and actions by the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf. The minors had been held for their participation in the protests addressing governance issues across Nigeria.

Governor Yusuf facilitated their medical care and rehabilitation before reuniting them with their families. The government has also pledged to support the children’s education, including providing school materials and opportunities for those pursuing higher education or professional training.

Parents expressed gratitude for the state’s intervention but called for sustained support to ensure their children’s well-being and future opportunities.
