President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the 2024 Christian pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, describing the event as an opportunity for spiritual renewal and national restoration.

The flag-off ceremony took place on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State, with the President represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

In a statement by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations at the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Tinubu urged pilgrims to use the journey as a moment to deepen their faith and pray for the nation.

The theme for this yearā€™s pilgrimage, ā€œPilgrimage of Renewed Hope for Total Restoration,ā€ was highlighted as being aligned with Tinubu’s administration’s vision and agenda for national development.

The President also emphasized the importance of patriotism, urging pilgrims to avoid absconding while abroad and stressing that Nigeria remains home.

Speaking at the event, Akume reiterated the power of prayer and the sacred nature of the pilgrimage, urging participants to carry the hopes of Lagos State and Nigeria as they journey through the Holy Land.

The NCPCā€™s official statement and updates were shared via its social media platform, emphasizing the significance of the pilgrimage to national unity and spiritual growth.
