Four people were shot dead Tuesday evening in Ondo town, Ondo State, during a clash between rival cult groups.
The shootings occurred at Ife Garage, Sabo, and Christ Land in the Oka area. Eyewitnesses said three Ẹiyẹ cult members were killed at Ife Garage, while another was gunned down near “Mama Shop” in Sabo.
Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the killings, describing the victims as wanted cultists. He said five others were injured.
“Residents should remain calm. Security forces are on ground,” Ayanlade stated.
Following the clash, police raided New Garage in Ayeyemi on Wednesday. Ayanlade defended the operation, saying all those arrested had links to the violence.
