Ondo Police Deploy Tactical Team to Ilu-Abo to Tackle Kidnapping

The Ondo State Police Command has intensified efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, made this known on March 10, 2026, while addressing protesters in Ilu-Abo community, where he assessed the security situation and engaged community leaders.

To strengthen security in the Ilu-Abo, Ayede, and Ogbese axis, the Command has ordered the immediate deployment of a Tactical Team Base in Ilu-Abo. The team includes specially trained anti-kidnapping operatives and other tactical units who will operate 24 hours, conducting patrols, surveillance, and intelligence-gathering operations.

The Police also stated that joint security operations, stop-and-search exercises, forest combing, and intelligence-led raids have been intensified to dismantle kidnapping networks operating in the area.

Residents were urged to remain calm, law-abiding, and support security agencies with credible information, assuring them that all reports will be treated confidentially.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to protect lives and property and warned that kidnapping and other violent crimes will not be tolerated anywhere in Ondo State.
