Major Shift in Ifedore Politics as Bibire Joins Aiyedatiwa’s Consensus Camp
There are growing indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State may be moving towards a stronger internal consolidation ahead of the 2027 elections following the decision of frontline Ifedore Constituency aspirant, Dr. Wale Adefila, popularly known as Bibire, to align with the consensus arrangement believed to have the backing of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Adefila openly declared his support for the governor’s political direction during a strategic meeting held with his coordinators from the 10 wards of Ifedore Local Government Area on Thursday.
The meeting, which many observers described as a significant political gathering within the local APC structure, attracted party stakeholders, ward executives and supporters from across the council area.

Among those present were the Ifedore APC Chairman, Prince Tunde Adegbonmire; former Special Assistant to the Governor, Barr. Asani Bakare; Alhaji Segun Amuda; Secretary of Ijare LCDA, Hon. Oni Olorunwa; Hon. Gbadamosi Yakubu representing Ilara Ward 2, alongside several leaders and loyalists of the party.
Speaking at the gathering, Adefila stressed the need for party members to respect the authority of the governor and the leadership of the APC, insisting that the consensus option remains the most effective path towards sustaining peace and unity within the ruling party.

He cautioned against actions capable of creating divisions within the APC, noting that individual ambition should never be placed above the collective interest of the party.
According to him, leadership requires sacrifice, discipline and commitment to a shared political goal.
The aspirant also assured party leaders that his supporters across the constituency would cooperate fully with any outcome reached through the consensus process.
In what political analysts described as a strategic appeal to the APC leadership, Adefila urged the party not to neglect loyal aspirants who may eventually step down in the interest of unity and stability.
He maintained that loyalty and sacrifice should be appreciated through appointments, political inclusion and participation in government activities.
The latest development has further intensified political discussions within the APC in Ondo State as consultations and alignments ahead of the party primaries continue to gather momentum.
