The Ondo State Government has banned the sale and distribution of unverified alcoholic drinks and other potentially harmful substances following the reported deaths of 30 people in Odigbo Local Government Area.

The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, September 5, in Odigbo town and Araromi-Obu, where residents allegedly consumed an herbal liquid substance.
According to reports, some of those affected became unconscious after consuming the substance before reportedly dying at different locations.
Authorities have commenced investigations into the incident, while residents have been urged to avoid consuming unverified alcoholic drinks, herbal mixtures and other substances of unknown origin.
