Police nab notorious motorcycle robbery gang in Ondo

Ondo State Police Command has arrested members of a motorcycle robbery syndicate responsible for a violent attack in Ile Oluji that left a victim injured.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, he said the arrests followed the robbery of a Boxer motorcycle from one Adegbese Ademola, who was attacked with a cutlass.

According to the command, the suspect Adaji Aaron, aged 20, and his accomplice attacked the victim before fleeing, but members of the community quickly pursued and apprehended them.

police said intelligence efforts later led to the arrest of two more suspects, Ojima David, aged 21, and Chukwuma Linus, aged 30, both identified as part of a motorcycle theft syndicate operating across state lines.

“All the suspects have confessed to taking part in the crime and will be charged to court when investigations are completed, while the stolen motorcycle has also been recovered.

The victim is receiving treatment at the hospital,” the statement added.For his part, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, commended residents and officers for their swift and coordinated response.

He further urged the public to remain alert and report suspicious activities, stressing that the command will continue to clamp down on criminal networks across the state.
