The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has confirmed a breach of its information systems by suspected hackers, raising concerns over possible exposure of business data.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the commission said the incident involved unauthorised access to parts of its digital infrastructure.

The CAC noted that the breach affected limited aspects of its systems and that swift measures have been taken to contain the situation.

It added that response protocols have been activated, with the commission working closely with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and other relevant agencies to assess the impact.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the incident.
